Darren Gergle

Darren (Ph.D., Carnegie Mellon University) is the director of the CollabLab and is a faculty member in Communication Studies and Electrical Engineering & Computer Science at Northwestern University. He also directs the Mobile Tracking Laboratory. Darren is broadly interested in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer-Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW) and Computer-Mediated Communication (CMC). His research program focuses on developing a theoretical understanding of the role that technology plays in supporting group interaction, and using this understanding, in turn, to develop innovative technologies to support group interaction.
